Prof. Rodríguez with Xavier

The Cyberix Club held the first of a series of conferences today. Our guest speaker was Professor José A. Rodríguez Ortega from the Computer Science Department of the Inter-American University, Bayamón Campus.  Professor Rodríguez holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Johns Hopkins. As head of the department, he has dedicated his time working with many students and successfully placing them in jobs in both the private and government sectors. Today’s topic was on the opportunities for employment in the IT field. Our club members got an idea of what they might want to study and what kinds of career opportunities might be available in the tech field.

We thank Professor Rodríguez for taking time out to talk to our students and we appreciate Xavier’s work in arranging the professor’s visit. The next conference is scheduled for October 6th with another guest…
